My story is simple. I learned a valuable lesson about food from the best: my mom. I may have graduated from a French culinary school but she is still my best teacher. I grew up with a mother that could take whatever few simple ingredients she had on-hand and create a meal that tasted like a planned event. My whole life I saw the joy that my mother felt from cooking; especially cooking for others. I have inherited that joy and passion for food and people. I love to share my passion for food and fitness with others. I know that maintaining a clean eating lifestyle can be a challenge. As a young lady, I experimented with every diet program out there trying to attain the rail skinny physique that I saw in all of the magazines, movies and TV. I developed a very unhealthy view of myself and what “healthy” was. I eventually focused on eating for fuel and providing my body with the proper foods that allowed it to function properly. I became stronger physically, mentally and emotionally. We have all been blessed and entrusted with one body and one life to maintain and take care of. I am always ready to provide an encouraging word or share anything I have learned over the years.
I have worked in corporate settings, medical facilities and as a personal trainer. All of my experiences have been stepping stones that led me to where I am today and I am thankful for all of it. Thank you to my mom for teaching me how to not only cook with great ingredients but with love.
My wish for you is that you have a positive and enjoyable experience with every visit to Lo-Cal Café.
